There are a significant number of lenders that disregard telecoms from any form of internal scoring whatsoever.Thanks. I've read stories of people who got rejected mortgages because of some insignificant bullsh.... from telecoms on their credit files. My logic is, if it can damage your history enough to cause you get declined a mortgage, then hopefully it can also help you if managed properly, even though just a tiny bit.My goal is just to have great history as I want to take advantage of the best credit card deals, like 0% purchases, cashback, etc. CC offers are pretty poor right now but it will get better again. And one day, want to apply for a mortgage. The point I was making in a round about way was that it would hardly be worth it to say, for example, pay double the cost of a more competitive mobile contract just for the sake that they reported it on an extra CRA, especially when you seem financially savvy talking about 0% deals etc. Any lender that is using TransUnion alone has to accept that there will be less information reported to make a decision on, so the lack of a mobile account is unlikely to sway a decision one way or the other.1

So it would in some cases make no difference whether it had 72 green ticks or a big red default flag. In fact, some lenders may choose to not even pull the telecoms data from your file in the first place.
Complete and utter nonsense. Its a shame people are allowed to post on here giving false and inaccurate information to newbies. Some lenders ignore telecoms and mail order completely, others will apply a different weighting on their internal scoring than they would for other types of account. This is fact, whether you choose to believe it or not.
A mobile phone account is marked as such and a lender will see this and will take little notice of it, unless it has red crosses or defaults every month then they’d question it.2 -

You sound awfully like Gary Dexter. He was an old forum member on here but got banned. Your new name 'Dexter' is also a bit of a give away.
What happened Gary? Why did you get banned for previously?0 -
