Your Smile Direct in liquidation - new company Alignerly?

Is anyone else going through the same hassle with Your Smile Direct? I've been trying to get a reply from them for weeks and then saw a piece in The Times yesterday that they have gone into liquidation. They announced on their social media that they are changing names to Alignerly (underneath saying it's in partnership with Your Smile Direct).
Does anyone know what rights I / other customers have here? I'm paying monthly via direct debit for treatment with Your Smile Direct but am getting no response from them and don't believe my treatment will be finished with them given the state of the company. Can I cancel my direct debit with repercussion if I email and state that I will be doing so until I get a response / confirmation that my treatment will ever actually be completed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am also with them. Half way through treatment and waiting for my lower retainer. I can no longer access my treatment plan as it Redirect to an Irish website now called alignerly. There is no explaining anywhere on existing customers position. I am disgusted
I have emailed them and no response on 2 weeks. I've still got over £1000 to pay them on monthly finance with tabeo. If I can't get my retainers then entire treatment is a waste of time!1 -
I have paid in full upfront and still don't have my aligners and no one is replying to my emails and their phone lines are off! I'm so worried I've just lost over a grand in £ and have nothing to show for it and no way of getting the money back!0

These places are the bane of dentistry's life!
They are completely unregulated, and the General Dental Council, who go for us like rabid Rottweilers if we even look at a patient 'funny' are completely uninterested in doing anything about it!
If you go for orthodontics with no dentist involvement, you are completely unprotected! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.2 -
My understanding is they went into liquidation because they had not paid their bills to the company providing the retainers. If this is the case you will not get your retainers and a company based in Ireland is not going to be bound by UK law. In any case orthodontics (braces) done remotely without a dentist seeing you in person is an incredibly bad idea and can result in a worse case scenario in you losing teeth. If you paid by credit card you may be able to get the money back. If you are paying by finance contact the finance company ASAP.0

I am in the same situation , My loan agreement says this
Right of redressIf the Goods or Services are not supplied, or are supplied only in part, or do not conform with the contract, you have the right to seek redress from us, as well as the Credit Intermediary.
You may have the right to sue the Credit Intermediary, us or both, if you have received unsatisfactory Goods or Services financed by this Agreement with a cash price of more than £100 but not more than £30,000.
So hopefully might get more info from tabeo if they ever ring me.0 -
They were going under the name Your Smile and as of last week have changed. This company took E1200 from me and I haven't received anything from them. They're a disgrace. Gavin Quigley was my account manager and he has stopped responding to me. I am based in Dublin, Ireland. I have tried calling them, I have emailed the Sales team, the Payments team, nothing back anymore. I haven't even received my 3D plan. I got a new bank card in July and even though I didn't provide them with my updated card details, they still managed to go in and get it. I have sent them a formal letter of complaint requesting my money to be refunded in full but apparently Visa (as told by my bank) will cover this. Don't be fooled by this company, I would hate someone else to go through this. Take a look at the Alignerly website reviews: How on earth could they have 5 star reviews already when they were in court last week going through liquidation. Read up on it people. They won't get away with this for much longer but call your bank and tell them to put a block on any transactions from Your Smile, Your Smile Direct and Alignerly. I'm going to try get my money back using a Transaction Dispute form with my bank.

My girlfriend was told she qualified as a candidate and so signed up to the payment plan. She received the home kit which was near impossible to do yourself. She enquired about coming in to see their dentist but due to COVID this wasn’t possible. After a few weeks of being sent different kits she was then told she’s no longer a candidate and shouldn’t have been allowed set up the payment plan. Effectively she was mis- sold. The sales rep confirmed a refund was due for the €800 paid so far. We chased this for 3 weeks and have heard nothing back. When you call it goes straight to voice message. They have been in liquidation since June it seems. Check the CRO website.0

I am in the same situation - I have had my treatment but now I need the final aligner, so everything doesn't just move back to where it was before. I still have almost £700 to pay to the finance company (etika/afforditnow) - but I have no idea what my rights are re cancelling my direct debits because I haven't received the goods/services in full. I've received an automatic reply from YSD customer email but I'm not expecting much...1

I paid in full. They have thousands from me this is so distressing. I can see someone from Barclays got their money back same day after complaining, I am with Santander and will have to fill in forms and provide all emails to company, they will then make a decision?!...0
