But that's the issue. They wouldnt know if you didnt tell them...rambo26 said:
No credit check has been made. I onky rang this morning to say i wanted the property and explained my situation.TBagpuss said:It's correct that you would be liable to the lender if your ex fails to make payments so there is a potential affordability issue. It sounds as though either that particular agency is being ultra cautious, or your ver all credit check wasn't great and this is 'pinch point'
Are there any saving s which would let you offer 3 or 6 months rent upfront, to address the landlord's concerns?1 -
Which letting agents dont see....rambo26 said:

You need to progress your divorce and separate yourself, mentally, emotionally and finacially from your ex.The property ownership will be dealt with as part of the divorces arrangements. You can then get on with your life with a clean break.0

Yeah find another letter agent, dont tell them about your current mortgage situation, heck they tell more lies than the politicians to sell or rent properties so no reason why you should give them all your financial information.1

Its ok to spend time with letting agents to get on their books but you are really looking for properties and then you deal with whichever agent happens to be advertising it. Some properties get advertised by more than one agent so its always seeing if you really liked this one if anyone else has it on RightMove etc.rambo26 said:So basically i have shot myself in the foot with that one. Hi I rented through an estate agent when I was leaving my partner...the mortgage was in my sole name....the credit check they do is only to see insolvency ccj.
I can't remember being asked if I had a mortgage...it wasn't a problem.0 -
Did you give them your name? If not, call again in a weeks time and hopefully you’ll speak to somebody else?1
