Hi all

So my partner and ihave moved into a new home 3 months ago. He has returned to work and last night we were imvloved in a car crash. Car hit the back of us. Looks like car os going to be written off and expext to get 3k back from the insurance. He has 2.5k finance to pay back so has 500 deposit.

Now i said i would pay half of the new car costs as i get use from it as a passenger. It would all be in his name and i hope that he can get a car on finance wifh us just getting this house. We can comfortably pay it and it will help free up some money for him. Also maybe get a slightly better car.

Does this make sense to you all. The only other debt his has is his mobile contract.

How bad is the damage?  Might be worth getting a quote (must tell them non insurance job) if still driveable before they write it off, may make sense to buy back the salvage and have it repaired with second hand parts etc.  Worth thinking about anyway.
