Thank you for the reply Jeremy so I have received the furlough agreement in writing when I was initially on furlough but to me the furlough agreement has now changed since then as I am now going into work so without them putting this new agreement in writing should I be at work? No they haven’t confirmed that I will be on 80% or 100% One of the directors today when I asked today said yes I’m sure that’s right!0

Did you follow up with a "can you check for me, please?"Dawnystar said:Thank you for the reply Jeremy so I have received the furlough agreement in writing when I was initially on furlough but to me the furlough agreement has now changed since then as I am now going into work so without them putting this new agreement in writing should I be at work? Great way to counter people who have "i don't know" on their vocabulary speed dial. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If they want you to be at work, you should be at work, but get your position clarified as soon as possible. The absence of an agreement does not stop you working, but as said above you need it resolved as soon as possible.0

Thank you Jeremy. I understand if they need me at work i have to be at work it's just the way they have gone about this had no consultation, I don't know where i stand on anything including the extra money etc., I have chased them again this morning regarding the little bit of extra money and they said i am sure it is right and the accountants will work it out for me when they have my hours for the month, but still nothing concrete!! I think i will just have to carry on each day and wait to see what my wage slip shows at the end of the month! Thanks for confirming the agreement too looks like they dont need to do anything on this for me to back at work legally.0

I think if you have heard nothing by Friday, ask for an email at least confirming you are working for 100% rather than 80%.0

Thank you Jeremy i sent the email on Friday but no reply as yet.0

They don't need to reissue the contract if something changes but there should be a letter confirming the change, which should require you to sign it if it's a change not mentioned in the agreement. For instance, a salary review letter may not need your signature if the contract says an annual salary review will take place. However, if the salary review letter says your pay increases then that letter overrides what is written as your salary in your contract.Dawnystar said:Sorry to bother you again!! but since last Thursday I have been back in the office every day and I have stillnot received a new Contract of Employment.0 -
I suggest you chase for a response to your email tomorrow.0

Thanks Jeremy i will and i will let you know if they decide to respond. They have spoken to me on a few occasions but have totally avoided the subject of my various queries.0

You definitely need clarification, however it does look like they have asked staff to take a 20% pay cut (with some furloughed) for a period of time. Do you know if anyone has been working through lock down? have they been paid 80%? If they have then I would perhaps expect to be paid 80% for the days worked and 80% for furlough, this is for a period which they have left open but is likely to the end of October (when support finishes as detailed in the letter) Hope you get clarification!0
