Road Tax Confusion
Comments
-
My tax and MoT are both due 31st July. I went to tax online this week and the website tells me I have to wait for the MoT extension to be applied first. They seem to be doing them in date order (logical...) so I'll have to try again 29th, 30th, 31st. Or get an MOT sooner.AdrianC said:
Eh? The MOT extension is a very simple question of six months being added to the expiry of any MOT that ran out after the end of March and before the end of this month. It's applied automatically a few days before the expiry. Tax is irrelevant - except that you can't tax a car without an MOT valid at the time of the tax starting.sheilamoose said:This MOT extension is the thing I don't understand... If your MOT runs out during the 6 month 'extension' and that overlaps with your road tax, then you do not get a 6 month extension!I need to think of something new here...0 -
You can get a test now and keep the expiry date.
31st is the last day for the extension, too.1
