Cancelled or cancel

Hi. New here and in need of advice.
Last year whilst owning a car and having insurance, i went and bought another car. I ended up getting insurance for the new car from a different insurance company as when I rang the insurance on my 1st car they wanted to make it a multi policy but that would mean instead the the insurance ending in January on my 1st car it would go till August in-line with the new car and I didn’t want that as I was gonna be selling the 1st car. I needed up selling 1st car in November.
So did the whole thing of letting insurance know about wanting to cancel policy as I didn’t own car 1 anymore. So they cancelled the policy for me. But now I’m coming up to new car policy renewal date I have earned 1 year ncb but whilst I had 1st car I’d earned 3 years. I did ring new car insurance up beginning of year and they said they’d have to be added on at renewal.
But looking at my my proof of no claims that were emailed to me it basically says sorry to hear your cancelling but on the letter they also sent it just says cancelled and I’m worried that if I need to send the letter of proof they’ll just see cancelled. They might think they cancelled it,not me.
Does the company need you to tell them about how you’ve cancelled a policy or only if you ever had a policy cancelled. As it says a bit like “have you had a policy cancelled, void” etc
just really worrying
thank you x

They wont think that. Especially as it confirms you are cancelling it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I’m just worried as I keep thinking that I’d have to show them the letter which shows my 3 years ncb just says ‘cancelled’
its the email that says “sorry you’ve cancelled your policy” which also has mentions my ncb0
