Offers on two houses

I have seen two houses I like today and I live in a city where the market moves very fast. I left an offer in on the one I prefer and I am now waiting to hear back. I know the property has another offer and some viewings booked. However, waiting out the viewings would very likely see me miss out on the other place I am also interested in.

It would not feel right to put offers in on both but is this acceptable to do? I am very worried about missing out on both. Alternatively, is there a way to pressure the seller to be faster in their response? I could send them my best and final offer and say I am interested in something else too. I don't want to jinx it by giving them a short time limit but I wonder if they'd be quicker if they knew I might be putting in an offer elsewhere?

Are they with different agents? If so, then stick an offer in on the other one as well.

We offered on a property that went to best and final and we missed out. A few weeks later the agent rang and said the original purchaser was pulling out, were we still interested, yes we were. I got home, and found another house in the same street had just come to market. Cut a long story short, at one point we had offers accepted on both, because I had to act quickly with the second one and my husband hadn't seen it when I offered. We eventually bought the second one.

The vendor doesn't have issues about having more than one offer, so it should work both ways.

They are different agents. That doesn't quite seem like the right thing to do. What if Plan B house accepts offer while I'm still waiting for Plan A house?

You wait until you know and then decide?... Not sure what the issue is

If house B accepts, give them your solicitors details but tell your solicitor not to start any work as you may be switching to house A.
If you aren't bold enough, you'll most likely end up with neither of them.

I don't think you should be mucking the vendor of house B around like that when it is vendor A who is stalling.

Morally it may be questionable to offer on both and may cause a little upset to vendor B

But the only person you have to look after is yourself for me

Send best and final offer to seller A and tell them it is valid for 24 hours as you are also nterested in another property. If they don't accept then make an offer on property B

as above, give the first one 24 or 48 hours to decide. If not, go with the other.

I have just learnt that property B has viewings on Saturday. I have sent my best and final offer to property A this morning but I did not give a time limit for them to reply by. I am very much conflicted and tempted to send property B an offer. I am thinking of sending something so low they would not accept but could counter it before the weekend. I just don't know.

There will always be more properties...

What if they didn't reply within 24h but accepted offer later? This would still leave me in a pickle.
