Electrical certificate costs

Options
Hi.  I have been charged £270 for 3 bed house in Devon. I've had the results back saying it's needs 5 new light fitting because they are stretched and £100 a fee of £120 for admin and certificate.  This doesn't make sense as surely the certificate is already included in the original price.  Any thoughts?  Feel like I've been ripped off!

Hi. Did you get the usual 2 - 3 quotes before accepting?

    What was the original price?

Take it you are a Landlord if looking for report?

Firstly an Electrical Installation Condition Report is a report - it is not a certificate. It simply reports on the condition of the electrical installation as it was found to be, subject to the extent and limitations agreed (and subject to any operational limitations).

Secondly, the certificate which has been mentioned will be for the remedial work. Electrical installation work needs to be certified.

Any price quoted for an Electrical Installation Condition Report should not and could not be taken to include an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate(s) for the remedial works (for which you have received a separate quote).

need a bit more info here really.
you've been charged £270 for a contractor to to an EICR? is that right?
they have identified that 5 lights need replaced because they are stretched... i have no idea what this means....
"and £100 a fee of £120 for admin and certificate"
this bit makes my head hurt. it's not really english is it you've just thrown some words together
non the less, i don't see how "lights being stretched" is a job that requires certification afterwards, so I do think that the extra charge for certification is unjustified.
