There are very, VERY few (if any) countries without roundabouts.[DELETED USER] said:Roundabouts are a terrible idea, other countries do just fine without them.
I suspect you're going to say "But the US"...? There's plenty, and they're increasing in number all the time, because they've realised they work far better than four-way-Stops...

They are fantastic if people learn how to use them properly. The worst of all worlds is a signal controlled roundabout. The whole point of roundabouts is that they are intended to keep traffic flowing.[DELETED USER] said:Roundabouts are a terrible idea, other countries do just fine without them.If you are lucky enough to be going the same way as the main flow, any entrance to the left of it can never get out
Now signals on a roundabout are the worst, not only do you have to watch for the people who don't know what lane to be in, the locals who know the quickest way round (clue: it is not using the markings on the lanes
) and the people who insist they are doing it "right", but you also have to look out for signals placed so you have to look away from the traffic to see them.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
