Old broadband provider still charged after switchover

I recently switched my broadband from TalkTalk to Plusnet. The switchover completed successfully according to Plusnet and the new service went live.
However I discovered that I was still charged by TalkTalk and after contacting them, they claim that they did not receive any notification from Plusnet and they were not aware of the switchover. After telling them that the line was now under Plusnet, they then disconnected the service on their end.
Then I requested a refund from TalkTalk for the charges they taken after the switchover date, however they refused because they claim that they did not receive notice from Plusnet. But after contacting Plusnet, they claim that the switchover process was automatic and acquiring the line from TalkTalk involved notifying them as well.
It is clear that something went wrong during the switchover process and it appears that both providers are refusing to take responsibility. Is there any way for me to get the amount back that TalkTalk has taken after switchover date?

I know this is old but they did exactly the same to me. They even rang and emailed me saying they would collect router as I left but then continued to charge me. They played dumb and couldn’t ring them only WhatsApp. They kept ignoring me then eventually last person said to pay and then dispute. At the end they asked if I was happy. I said NO so they said they would have to get complaints to ring me. (Which is what I wanted all along). They rang me and then said ‘ we will refund you’ straight away. Absolute joke.0
