UKPC parking fine

Options
Hi
Today was issued a parking ticket for £100, reduced to £60 if paid in 14days in the B&Q car park be clause I was not correctly within the marks of the bay space.
Are UKPC able to issue fines with in shopping centres and should I pay this or this a scam that they try around the car parking?
Does anyone have any information or details why fine should not be paid?
Thank you in advance

    HI!
Have you read the newbies thread?
Its back one step, where you started a new thread from.
Read it, then you will find your answers. Firstly, it isnt a fine. nothing tells you it is a fine.

    It is not a fine.

Edit your post to remove information about who parked. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people as far as the law is concerned. The Keeper has protections in law that The Driver does not.

Do this before you do anything else.

Next, read the sticky thread for NEWBIES that was just underneath where you clicked on the  button and asks you to read it before posting. Read it thoroughly. It answers all your questions and tells you everything you need to know.

If this was a NTD and the store manager/CEO/landowner doesn't cancel it, then appeal using the template in blue text from the NEWBIES, unedited, from The Keeper.

What happened when you complained to the store manager?

Don't forget to complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

Yes, all the information you are looking for is in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.

To find the NEWBIES thread, go back to the screen where you found the 'New Thread' button earlier, and it is one of the first five threads in the list there.

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from a scammer/ex clamper.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Is the NEWBIES thread invisible (to be fair, it is for me...doesn't exist as a sticky for me any more!

I have to click on TELEPHONE HEARINGS to find the darn thing.  Stupid new forum.

The NEWBIES thread IS still pinned as a sticky.

This is something to do with your profile, but I know not what.

I have exactly the same issue, but I know how it happened.
I clicked on the cog-like icon to the left of the thread, and then clicked on the Dismiss word - wondering what it did. Silly me. I have yet to discover how to undo that hasty action.

Yes it happened when I clicked dismiss by mistake once!

I asked how to un-dismiss but no-one seems to know.

It's strange, but I can see the Newbies thread at the top of the forum where it should be but then I can also see what seems to be clone of it just below half way down page 2. Both versions have exactly the same url.

It might make it easier for you to find it if you bookmark the url: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822/newbies-private-parking-ticket-old-or-new-read-these-faqs-first-thankyou#latest

Following an interaction between me and some other regulars (including @KeithP), I asked a question by e-mail of the forum team as to why I could only see three stickies but @KeithP and others could see five.  I print below the answer.  Note that I have corrected that horrible grammatical error and the spelling mistake (probably get PPR'd for that): -
There is now an option to "Dismiss" announcements, meaning that in your own personal view you may see less fewer posts pinned at the top if you accidentally clicked this (easily done).
Unfortunately, this is not reversible at the moment.
If you logout from the forum, or use an "Incogneto" "Incognito" or "Private" window, you will see the full set of announcements at the top as other members see it.
We will continue to update and fix forum snags over the coming months. This is being continually worked on. Unfortunately we can't give an estimate when these issues will be fixed.
