    Morning folks

@determined_new_ms I'm sorry for your loss and that your manager isn't being supportive. It seems ridiculous that they could insist on 2 weeks notice for someone passing away.

Should have posted yesterday but it seemed like a busy day (opticians appointment, shopping etc). Plus struggling through the anxiety fog. grrrr. Hate to wish my life away but i need next week done with.

OH had promised me that we'd have an early start and a walk today but he went to bed really late and is still fast asleep. I did think that it wouldn't happen. No chance to do it later as he's teaching and then m-i-l is coming over. I'm still not sure how I feel about seeing people but you can't keep them away forever. It's more because my s-i-l is a district nurse and m-i-l is going round to theirs a lot so I feel like it's the weak link in the chain.

    MSE things:
    :cookie: Reconcile budget sheet
:cookie: Cleaning and tidying ready for Tuesday
:cookie: B/L from stores. We are having fish and chips for tea at m-i-l's request
:cookie: Sort chicken stock out of s/c
:cookie: Washing pegged outside to dry (at last!)
:cookie: Could do with going to the local diy shop for a new lawn rake and weed killer. Will see how I feel.
:cookie: While there, could see if weird little florist slash fruit and veg shop is open as they often have cooking apples and I want to make more raspberry jelly.

    Have a good one all

    Afternoon all :)
Very quiet thread this week, hope everyone is ok. Funny sort of day today, sunny and warm one minute, cloudy and quite cold the next. It felt chilly and autumnal first thing when I walked the dog - I wore a big chunky cardi and got cold hands, really could have done with gloves as well! Wish the weather would sort itself out.
Usual chores done this morning, plus a little bit in the garden. Gave all the strawberries that have finished a good haircut. It always seems brutal - my uncle, who was a market gardener, would drive his tractor and mower over the lot once they had finished - but they grow back better for it. Though I used a pair of kitchen scissors as mine grow in troughs and hanging baskets as opposed to fields! Also hoed between rows of carrot and beetroot babies. This afternoon I have some spinach and chard seedlings to !!!!!! out. As I didn't label them, I don't know which is which, but they are pretty interchangeable to be honest. Also ought to do some ironing >:)
Googled and found a quince chutney recipe, which I was quite excited about, as there are going to be loads of quinces this year,  and you only need so much quince jelly. We have almost run out of chutney, which is an unusual occurrence as I normally have a big stash. It keeps for years, or it does as long as we don't eat it all I suppose. Never thought of using quinces to make it. They will be a pain to peel and cut up, but the recipe is quite spicy and sounds nice.
No plans for spending, or going anywhere for the rest of the day. Dinner will be tomato and bacon pasta with mozzarella (I usually use camembert, but mozzarella is what I have, so that is what I will use) as I seem to have quite a few ripe tomatoes to use up.
I see the site doesn't like the above horticultural term meaning spacing little seedlings out to give them more room to grow :D

    Hi Good afternoon all.
This morning I went for my open water swim and really enjoyed it. As it is the only swimming venue for several counties it is full of competitive water athletes of all sorts from water poloists to tri athletes. So I do feel like a bit of a ferry amongst dolphins but I get there in the end tuut tuut. I need to repot sa few plants, throw out a few out and sew some more herbs.
Do some reading and a bit more weeding, but no more cutting ivory - yesterday it mede me sick. Next time I will hose it down first, the dust really gets to my lungs.
Dinner is a lasagne and this afternoon I'll make a some roasted vege(w goat cheese) if I get hungry.

    Evening all :)
Open water swim sounds idyllic Ditty. Hot, sunny day here today, not had one for a while :)  Decided to venture to an outdoor car boot sale this morning, with the proviso that if it didn't feel safe, we could just get back in the car and go home. As we went early it wasn't crowded, everything was widely spaced, and it actually felt more comfortable than walking in the high street. Most people kept their distance and there was plenty of space to dodge out of the way of the few who didn't. I was glad we gave it a try. I bought a few bits to sell on, but I was far more excited about the bargainous seeds, some new potatoes from a smallholder, plant pot saucers, an unused Yankee candle in a jar and a pair of almost new curtains that fit the lounge window perfectly, all of which I got for just over £10. It started to get busier just as we got to the end, so we left everyone to it. Got home before 8 am (it is only about 15 minutes drive).
Other than that, and a particularly thorough hand wash, I have washed, dried, ironed and hung the curtains, ordered some new rings for them from ebay, as the ones that came with them are a different colour to the pole and look a bit odd, watered the garden, planted out some lettuces in an empty tub, listed an item on ebay, and recorded all spends, business and otherwise, among other small things. Dinner was jacket potatoes with salad, home made coleslaw and grated cheese, which was really filling. An early night is beckoning I think. Can't believe how quickly the weeks are going.
