Morning allHappy birthday to your DS ZiggySo far today I have:Early morning dog walkTaken out the mangetout, as they have gone over now, and were looking brown and straggly. Picked half a colander of pods of various sizes off as I did so. They have done well this year, especially since I grow them in a tub! I will put Rainbow Lights chard in the tub when the seedlings are big enoughTipped out the last of the potatoes. We grow first earlies in the raised bed and second earlies in a couple of pots. This was the last pot, unfortunately. I will plant more chard in this one when big enough.Trimmed the garlic and brought it indoors. It isn't great this year (unlike the mangetout and potatoes, which have been grand), the bulbs are small and some are already going a bit soft. I will pickle it I think as it doesn't look as though it will keep, so this afternoon I will mostly be peeling small garlic cloves. I know I could freeze it, but I don't like to put alliums in the freezer, as no matter how well I wrap it, it always taints everything else in there. So I will pickle it in cold vinegar and keep the jar in the fridge. It will only be one big jar, as the bulbs are small.Bundled up the pea sticks as they will do for another year if kept dry. I have stuck them in the garage and asked OH to put them in the garage loft for me.Still to do:Check banks and update spreadsheetPost a RM surveys item. Might have to walk to the post office with it, as it is a CD box thing and awkward to fit in the little post box across the road (annoyingly)Garlic!Store away some bread flour I had delivered yesterday. It won't go in the larder so I will have to be creative.More houseworkIroningLunch will be leftover frittataDinner will be fish, new potatoes and mangetout. Not sure what fish yet, will look in the freezer to see what I fancy.Hope everyone has a good day6

I can't believe it has gone 12, I've only just finished my breakfast!! I was up at the usual time but things kept getting in the way. Frustratingly I aim to finish lessons around 2 pm and I haven't even started yet, the children both do some independent studying so they have been getting on with that.
Plans for today:
Wash hair with the shampoo bar
Let hair dry naturally
RM survey
Correctly delivered survey
Ongoing survey
Pmp etc
Continue with the project to tame the emails
NSD
B/L/D from stores
Update the freezer inventory

DawnW - You haven't had allium leaf miner pest in your garlic, have you? They certainly produce bulbs ranging from difficult to store through to completely unusable. By harvesting time, the biggest telltale sign in garlic is hard chestnut-coloured little 'seeds' inside the foliage & bulbs, which are pupae. We had some not very good garlic & poor shallotts a couple of years running but didn't realise we'd got this damned pest until the following year when it got into our leeks too & shredded them into a frilly mess.
Hopefully it isn't that but flagging it up just in case.

I have been reading along or having a catch up to see what everyone is up to.
Work project now completed, 8 weeks of hard slog. Need to do a presentation in a couple of weeks on it, then final completion.
Have also started exercise classes, aiming to do 5 this week just to help as body has had abit of a wobble so GP monitoring.
Popping out in abit to do some banking and RM survey.
Really pleased with food waste, still minimal. Food planning still going well.
Have been decluttering, or rather helping DD as she is sorting out her room now she is back from uni. Still a big pile to sort out.
Picked up a few bits in the Argos clearance, some for birthday/Christmas presents, some for charity organiser. Picked up some real bargains.
Have been going out and about more, but with a mask as per GP instructions.
DD needs a new bedroon light. We found one in a sale in the Range but came home first to do some research before actually buying it.
Basically just doing the same old thing day after day.
Hope everyone doing okay x

F xI haven't noticed anything on the foliage Foxgloves, (though it did have a bit of rust). Will have to check the bulbs. The shallots are a bit rubbish too, though no sign of brown 'seeds'. The onions are good though, and chives etc unaffected, can't really tell with the leeks as they are still babies, so hopefully just planted duff garlic! Or the weather not conducive. Not the best day, woke up really tired, I really ought to have a blood test as I am overdue one, but the surgery is still really twitchy about it. Anyway, did a few things this morning, including a shorter dog walk between rain showers, had a sleep this afternoon and have done a few more things since. I have:Put away bulk flour order - this involved moving stuff around in boxes first to free up some spacePut sales stock away in loftCleaned kitchen and bathroom, including washing the bathroom floorUpdated grocery delivery order for tomorrowMade a lemon drizzle cake - squirted some lemon juice over fish at dinner yesterday, so it was necessary to use the rest of the lemon!Currently cooking dinner, looking forward to that
