How to tell if a 1996 investment holding is a PEP/ISA

Hi i am wondering if there is a way to tell if an investment holding bought in 1996 is a PEP/ISA. I think it is but want to make sure. There is no way of telling just by looking at the documents. Thanks in advance.

It would have been a PEP at the time of purchase as ISAs were not introduced until 1999.  However, PEPS become reclassified as ISAs.   (that assumes that you held it in a tax wrapper and not unwrapped).

Surely you've received some statements, updates, correspondence etc since 1996. What do they show?
