Mine is £13 cheaper than last year with the same company, including a claim for windscreen damage.  Just paid it 3 days ago.

It's a BMW.  They get stolen daily where I live.  That could be a factor.
Could be worse, he could have a Ford Fiesta, the most stolen car in UK!!
I think that figure is flawed, though I did read it also.  It is the most stolen car by absolute numbers, not as a proportion of the number of Fiesta's actually on the road.  We have two Fiesta's and the local entrepreneurs still seem to prefer to take the BMW's (especially the big ones) and the Range Rovers.

Our insurance is massively cheaper this year. We paid around £530 for our car and campervan (multi-car with Admiral) last year and the renewal quote was similar. After some haggling they offered us about £50 off but we decided to SORN the camper and risked a couple of months without fire/theft insurance.

We insured the car for £175 and we've just put the camper back on the road and the premium was £40 lower than we were previously quoted at £220; so £125 less than last year in total.

Being a BMW, don't expect any indications that it may be nicked.

It's called inflation. The price we pay for reckless 'money printing' of billions by the gov't.

    Isn't inflation low at present?
  • 0.5% in June 2020. Which is below the government target of 2%.

I take it that is for a month, which is about 6% a year.  Still seems a lot less than the amount that everything in Tescos goes up by every week ;)

(2% a month would be 27% a year- we will be printing million pound notes soon :))

0.7% for the year to May 2020, the most recent figure published by the gov't.

Ah, they assume that the average household is still buying 2000 litres of petrol a week, so the drop in fuel prices has balanced the books :)
