Facts are what matters , tone is irrelevant
There is no doubt in my mind that Ecp will follow these up and start litigation against recipients , these are the warning signs which we have seen numerous times before with other companies , so my advice was get ahead of the game , plus you did ask questions which I answered
Telling me to get a hobby rubs me up the wrong way , I have had one for fifty years until covid killed it off !!
It's actually the most foolish statement I have seen in over 3 months of lockdown !!!
Telling forum members who answer your questions in such a manner beggars belief1 -
I have to say that I'm full-square with Redx. The more you do now, the better you'll be placed in the ever increasing likelihood of litigation. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Without me having to trawl through pages and pages of content and accronyms that I don’t understand, do you have a template or generic text for me to send to them? And do i send it to the euro car parks or the debt collection company? Thanks0

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up,
Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

We have seen a lot more activity by CST law since the covid crisis started , plus more ECP activity too , so I believe they are following the rest like sheep and although this one is a debt collector letter , I an convinced that an LBC will arrive in the future
The OP seems averse to doing any research or work , wanting templates and links and pointers , but I am going back to my hobby !! (Which was their excellent advice to me)3 -
Hi Greenwood2020, You have my sympathy. I have a similar letter from CST (Euro Car Parks originally, then DRP (Debt Recovery Plus), in a letter supposedly from CST Law, with all the same kind of wording, £160 etc. I can see why this might be happening in the pandemic, but it doesn't mean they're not all a bunch of vermin. What I would like to get clear about is whether the situation, payment-wise, is the same if you receive a Letter Before Claim as it is now, i.e. can one at that point just pay up without it having increased? The letter talks about 'Statutory Costs and Court Fees' but that would be in respect of some pretty trivial admin. Does anyone have a feel for what they can reasonably do here, and how likely it is to become an LBC anyhow?
Also, regarding the original "offence", now just over 3 years ago (!), Euro Car Parks quietly increased the tariff, with the result that I keyed in all the usual things at the machine (as a regular customer) only to find that the amount corresponded to a shorter stay. Are they obliged to display a notice alerting users to the tariff rise?0 -
@Chriso123, you won't get substantive advice on someone else's thread as it is likely to take things off track, leading to potential confusion. If you have your own thread, simply copy and paste your input above to that please. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

OK, thanks for the advice. I hope maybe you guys can share any thoughts on the thread I'll create just now. I was just conscious that threads can proliferate on a single topic, and my experience was rather similar to the one discussed here.1

The PPC has exaggerated the sum of money and they can't recover £160. Have a read of the sticky thread called 'TEMPLATE DEFENCE' and the Southampton court case appended there, it explains why a parking firm can't add sixty quid to a parking charge.
Once you know why not, it helps because you can see through the scam.
We win, and we know what we are doing. But a CST Law letter can be ignored.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
