Lost share certificate

When I lost a share certificate, I believe it cost me £80 to get a replacement. They will need to be in your name too, if they are really your fathers.

Out of interest, if you hold a certificate and dividends are reinvested, do you get an extra certificate every time a dividend is paid?
Considering fees, when it comes to selling you could have loads of certificates worth less than it costs to sell them?0 -

Sale costs are based on number of shares sold, often with a minimum charge, not on number of certificates involvedgatters said:

No, we get statements everytime a dividend is converted to shares but no certificates. Barclays Sharestore told us to use shareview to sell but haven't given us a method to turn off the buying of new shares with the dividends.
