Easyjet - how can you get a voucher instead of a refund or postponement of flight

We are due to fly with Easyjet on July 29 but having cancelled our holiday we now want to rebook the flights for next year. However the dates we want next year aren't available yet. I have seen somewhere that you can get a voucher so that when the flights become available you can then book with them. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find out how to do this and I can't get anywhere on the website asking for help. Has anyone done this?

Who has cancelled the holiday? You or EasyJet? If it's EasyJet they should give you a full refund. If it's you then you may be lucky to get anything if the holiday is still planned to go ahead.1

As previous said. If you only booked flights with EasyJet and not a package then you will have to wait to see if the flights are cancelled, if not then you will be obliged to go or lose your money. Vouchers are only being offered for cancelled flights. If that is the case, where are you going? Did you cancel your accommodation yourself? You could perhaps book other accommodation?1

Thanks for your help. I think I will have to try and transfer the flights. It was just flights and we don't want to go abroad this year anymore.0

You can currently change the flights on EJ without charge, as long as you do it online (you just pay the price difference). Since the dates you want are not yet scheduled, I'd book holding flights as far ahead as you can, and then change them again once the dates you want are available. You may by then have to pay to reschedule of course, but if you do nothing now, and the flights operate, then you lose the lot.
Or you choose the poker player's option: sit tight, and hope that EJ don't run the flights, in which case you can get a full refund.
You say you have 'cancelled your holiday', but I hope you haven't already cancelled your flights? No free lunch, and no free laptop1 -
No we haven't cancelled the flights yet. I think we'll do the first option and book as far ahead as we can - don't want to do the poker players option!0

It's 3 weeks off yet, so you can presumably change that booking much nearer the departure date. If they are going to cancel, they'll probably do it at least a week before. No free lunch, and no free laptop1

Hi, I am in the same situation with EJ, but due to travel 18th july. Today I have received an email suggesting the flights are still going ahead, but we don't want to go. I had not thought about booking holding flights, I tried to move flights to July 2021 but of course they've not released these flights. They are not stupid! Changing flights now I would pay to change them. I am going to speak to my insurer tomorrow to see if a pre existing condition my husband has would support us not travelling during covid.
Although I have checked the fco website, its still saying travel to Spain for non essential travel is not advised? Is that right? And does that mean I can argue not to travel as advice is not to travel?! Does that mean travel insurance is not valid?

I decided in the end that we would just transfer the flights and having gone on the website to do this I found out my flights were cancelled! I am surprised they hadn't emailed me to tell me this already but maybe they hope you just leave it and lose out. So I have requested a voucher and have just had a strange email back which still talks about the original flights and only mentions vouchers in very small print in the midst of the email so having initially been relieved I am now still wondering if it's all sorted!
