Hey, I’ve been reading on here for ages but first time posting.
We submitted our application on the 4th November!  I’m employed, husband is SE, we’ve been back and fourth with the underwriters and still waiting!
It’s been 12 weeks in total now and I feel like it’s never going to end!
    So bloody stressful!!
Oh no that’s awful, do u know why? Ours took 12 weeks but it was declined after 8.5 weeks, went to appeal then got an offer.
They offered us less a week or so ago and we accepted it but it’s classed as appealing so back in the queue :(
The queue is only 6 working days now. Don't worry.
It's dropped to 5 working days - shortest I've seen it for ages.
That’s really good, hopefully u hear soon xxx
  • Hi,
I started re-mortgage application and time frame is below:

    08/01/2021-AIP
    11/01/2021-Mortgage advisor chat
    25/01/2021- submitted for underwriter

This was delayed due to credit check showing my credit card still owes money while i clear my credit card every month which i have provided evidence for Nov, Dec, and Jan before it went to underwriter.
Mortgage advisor said this has gone to underwriter as an appeal as i believe automatic underwriting system rejected application.
What are the chances that based on evidence the application will be approved?
Current wait time is 5 days - but we are on 29/01/2021 and they only reviewing 21/01 how come that is 5 days.

My understanding of how lenders see your credit card is very different from how we see our management of the card.

For example, my mortgage broker friend (who specialises in applications for the army!) and mortgage broker who is handling my application, both said make sure the cards show as £0 on your statement and not £200, but then paid off in full. Why not? I was told that the £200/month will be calculated against your ability to pay back your mortgage. So they assume you have £200 outstanding each month (paid off or otherwise) and calculate around it.

My friends applied to re mortgage for £50k, they offered them £25k because he’s se and took all the grants, but they appealed and Santander said if they pay all credits off they will lend them 30k. So hopefully they will sort yours.

Does anybody know how long it takes Santander to respond to solicitor’s enquiries?

There is an issue with the title for the property we are buying so we are waiting anxiously for a response as to whether they will still lend.

Work queues weren't designed for people working from home. Far from the panacea it's portrayed to be. Not least that productivity will be suffering. With staff contending with child minding issues, Covid etc.
