Any luck with Hoppa refunds? Frustrated is not the word...

Has anyone had any luck receiving refund payments from Hoppa for cancelled bookings? I have cancelled two bookings but keep getting told hoppa credits only which have to be used by July 2021, which lets face it might not be possible. Feeling totally annoyed and will take to small courts as its £420 they have of my money, terms say 90% if cancelled 60 days before travel (I gave 120+ days notice).  Am going through credit card and paypal as booked separately so will see... just hoping to hear good news from others.  I will never use again and have contacted Watchdog and trading standards as feeling so let down.

  • HI I too am like many others very irritated with Hoppa - have you had any luck with the small claims, I am thinking of doing that and also any other avenue?  I dont think they should be able to get away with this behaviour.  Id love to hear of your success/progress please?

It would depend on the T&Cs on the booking.
They may argue that the service you booked was still available
  • Yes maybe but the flights and hotel were closed?

If your booking with Hoppa was a standalone booking for transfers then it doesn't matter that your flight and hotel were closed. Your contract with them is not reliant on your contracts with other suppliers.

The poster above is correct, what are the T&C's of your booking with Hoppa, that's all that really matters.

I would imagine your insurance should/would cover this as well (again depending on the level and substance of the policy)

    Thanks I’ll look.
  • I took them to the small claims court twice. First case they did not reply whatsoever so now a CCJ has been issued. Second one, they replied asking for more time to respond and were given until 17 August. If they do respond then yet another CCJ will be applied for.
