Sounds like the answer is maybe, maybe not. I'm not sure but think I've seen vans with forward facing cameras.
Correct.  The forward facing camera is on a bracket in the passenger compartment which is why I was querying the all knowing fred's comment.

    Not in all vans.
    Conversely in some then?

Strange seeing this thread. I have just got in the post this morning a speeding ticket from 25/06/20. apparently I was doing 36 in a 30 limit. I remember seeing the van and immediately hit the brakes. but obviously too late. so £100 + 3 points i guess. if I hadn't been furloughed it wouldn't of happened because I would of been hard at work. such is life.

Generally if you only slow down from speeding when you see the van, you've already been caught.  The device is rated to a full 1000m.

If you haven't done a speed awareness course in the last 3 years, you may be offered an online equivalent.

oh. ok that sounds not too bad. because I have been offered one in the past.{been done twice before} and the reason I didn't take it was I would have to take a day off work, and also they wanted £90.00 for the privilege, but what you're suggesting sounds more to my liking.

You'll still have to pay for the privilege, but it will be similar cost to fixed penalty
