Speed camera van

All the older model speed guns required open windows as they were not designed to be used through glass. Are the newer ones different?

A bulkhead between the front passenger seat and the windscreen ? (apart from the one between the engine bay and passenger compartment of course)

No, the one between the cab and the load bay.
They're usually standard on most vans, sometimes easily removable, sometimes with a small window, sometimes only half-height.

Correct.  The forward facing camera is on a bracket in the passenger compartment which is why I was querying the all knowing fred's comment.

You can get done by a forward facing one as I just have been, it had a small window at the top in the centre.
