TBH, I can't imagine more detail than "July/Aug 63" is going to be even vaguely relevant for anything...0 -
You're right about that site ... I had a look today and it says my licence was issued in May 2013; that is correct - for the photocard. I actually passed my test in May 1988.0

I passed my test on December 12th 1963, long before the DVLA. The issuing of driving licence and licence administration was handled by the County Councils in those days, who may well still have records. You could try your County Council.0 -

You could try your County Council.If the Council have indeed kept that personal data it would seem to be a gross breach of the Data Protection Act, so it seems very unlikely.BTW the OP has never come back to tell us why he needs to know.1 -
Your driver number is a combination of the first 5 letters of your surname, and date of birth...if only 4 letters of surname , for example Gray, the 5th letter would be a number ie GRAY90
