This is great - thank you!  It would also be useful to be able to tick both to indicate those comps. that you want to re-visit on a daily/weekly basis.

Sorry libra10 I'm confused. I probably didn't explain myself properly. On the old forum you could sort the whole main list in date order. For example there are currently 87 pages of competitions. I want to be able to sort the whole 87 pages into date order so page one would currently be the 01/08, 01/09 etc. and page 87 would be the 31/07, 31/08 etc.
The url you have provided takes me to the search page and if I enter a date E: 03/07 it only brings up competitions from that one day. Or am I being silly and missing something glaringly obvious?

That would be really handy if we could see immediately the tick or cross once we've searched by end date (or any other search)

Sorry molly57 for misunderstanding.  Not sure whether this can be done.  Perhaps one-eye or someone else could advise.  It would be useful.
