Backed dated furlough pay....

I was working with my whole kitchen team up until the 23rd of March and then put onto furlough. The first furlough payment I received was back dated to the 1st of March. I received far less than 80% more like 60% as I have tronc as part of my salary.
Shouldn't have I have received normal pay from the 1st to the 23rd as usual and then furlough pay afterwards?
