Back dated furlough pay

I was working with my whole kitchen team up until the 23rd of March and then put onto furlough. The first furlough payment I received was back dated to the 1st of March. I received far less than 80% more like 60% as I have tronc as part of my salary.
Shouldn't have I have received normal pay from the1st to the 23rd as usual and then furlough pay afterwards?

Yes of course you should be paid your contractual rate for the time you were working. What's more, your employer cannot claim from 1st March if they didn't furlough you until the 23rd. They have made a fraudulent claim. You can report them hereYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1
