Advice on Vodafone broadband issues

I'm currently with Plusnet on their standard ADSL speed but looking to upgrade given how good some of the current offers are. I've been either with Plusnet or Sky over the past 10 years and no real issues with either. Vodafone and TalkTalk are the front runners but some of the negative feedback is off-putting. Shell would also be a contender (at least price-wise) but there's enough bad reviews around to put me off completely.

I'll call Plusnet to see if they can price match but even their new customer offer doesn't beat Vodafone or TalkTalk. Am I overthinking this?

Sorry, another revision to an old post! I'm still with Vodafone, though about to leave despite the early exit penalty. The huge negative right now is that Vodafone really isn't offering much in terms of FTTP (or full fibre/Ultrafast). They do apparently offer it in some regions, but their roll-out with Openreach has been limited. They don't have any info on when this might be available. So, my only warning would be to those thinking of joining Vodafone - you'll be tied in to a long term contract (24 months) with no guarantee that you'll be able to upgrade to full fibre mid-contract, unless they pull the finger out and start offering this more broadly!
