HP Contract dispute with VW
Comments

I'm pretty sure VWFS has correct details. I signed lease contract with VWFS and only after a month I spotted it had wrong VIN number in it, but correct reg plate. I discovered it when they sent me some documents and VIN number on documents was different than on initial agreement. I went to the car to check VIN and it was the same as on recent documents sent, not original finance agreement.
Does your agreement has different reg plate or different VIN?

I may be doing a Hilary Clinton (misremembering) but I think OP said both are different on the paperwork vs the vehicle they actually have.Penelopa.Pitstop said:Does your agreement has different reg plate or different VIN?1 -
Yes, the finance agreement is for a completely different vehicle. Different VIN number and different reg.Penelopa.Pitstop said:Does your agreement has different reg plate or different VIN?
I have contacted and visited VW and they told me the car i'm driving has no finance attached to it.
The finance I am paying for is for a car I have never owned.
This isn't just a mistake from VW, they knowingly made me sign for a car that fit the finance deal.
And the poor women who has the car i'm paying for has paid over £2000 extra for a car she doesn't own.
All so VW could balance their books.

Just an update........I went to the financial ombudsmen after VWFS suggested I do so as they didn't accept my appeal, they also affected my credit history with late payment marks against my name.
Anyway, on Monday I received a letter saying I no longer hold any financial agreement with VW
)))))
The moral of this story, if I listened to the advice of most people on this feed, I would have given up and paid!
on the same note, I appreciate everyone who took the time to read this post and reply, if you need any advice, just let me know

The car was on HP, yet you refer to giving the car back at the end of the term, or the remaining £6k finiance. That normally applies to PCP.
Now, you say the balance has been written off?
Have you got to give the car you have been using to the old lady who paid cash (for your car and owns it) and the old lady give you the car you have purchased?

The car was on HP and I had to pay the final lump sum as it was the end of the 48-month contract, they then told me I could hand the car back but I was disputing the paperwork.Grumpy_chap said:OK, so I am still confused.

The lady who is driving around in the car that is registered to me has no idea, unless she decides to check her paperwork or even try and part-exchange it as it still had finance attached to it. (used to have finance attached)
VW tried to get me to sign the car I was driving back to them so they could rectify the paperwork, that's when I refused and went to the ombudsman.
What I know is VW tried pulling a fast one because they offered me a car they couldn't honour so the poor lady who paid for my car in cash is now driving around in a 60bhp polo instead of the 75bhp car I own.
I probably didn't explain the situation 100% clearly enough but the balance has now been written off and I get to keep the car.
so I'm delighted!0 -
I’m so glad you feel good about yourself. Not many will join you in that feeling or agree with the actions you have taken. Who do you think will ultimately pay for the car which you have effectively stolen from VW? Clue - it’s not going to be VW.hilly2020 said:

We already know who's paid for the OP's car - they told us a year ago. The other customer paid for the OP's car (the one she thought she was buying) in cash.Money_Grabber13579 said:

If I've understood the OP correctly - and if what they're telling us is accurate - this is a mess of the VW dealer's making and they need to sort it out with the other customer. (The OP hasn't made it clear whether it's VWFS, the VW dealer or the FOS who has resolved this, but it's the dealer who needs to finish putting it right.)

How have a stolen the car? I didn't let a big corporation screw me over like they tried to do, they committed fraud and wiped my dept so I am pleased with myself.Money_Grabber13579 said:

Like I said I probably haven't explained the situation clearly enough as you have no idea what you're talking about.
Plus you shouldn't be on this site giving advice to people with that opinion of yours.0
