    Evening all!

Just checking in and catching up. Thank you to Aimee - you were my first Christmas card of the year. Must make sure that I get mine done this weekend.

Hope everyone is well, and that all the newcomers are getting into the swing of things. I must confess to not having done any flying since the weekend as I've been supplying every day this week, and have been shattered by the time I get home and seem to have caught the lazyitis that is going around! That, and a cold, which of course has mutated into man-flu for OH. lol

Handed in my job application last night on the way home from supplying, but met a girl from my agency today who has already been offered an interview there, so I'm keeping my wings crossed!

Am loving all the grinch names:rotfl: .

Well tea eaten by all, DH had a clear plate:eek: , first time in 14 years where beef has been served and there isnt a little pile of fatty bits on the side of his plate - RESULT:D . I used a recipe off here for the brisket which has been printed out and stuck in my recipe folder for future reference.

Dishes done and kitchen tidied round. DH reading to littles (actually bet he has sloped off to study as been ages). I am treating myself to a vodka with cranberry and orange juice (only a tiny bit of vodka) may have another as was very scrummy and it may knock me out tonight;)

Off to watch house of tiny tearaways - yes I am that sad:p

Then had a very upsetting phone call from a neighbour - not nasty, but her husband died two weeks ago and she is in such a state. We sent her some flowers today but I think that just started her off again. I am so scared of getting old(er) and being alone. She has a great family but it's not like having your husband there.

Pollybear take it from one who knows she will be so touched to get those flowers. Any act of kindness at the moment is likely to make her wobble. Lots of people don't know what to do or say in these situations so they do/say nothing which is far more hurtful even if it is not intended. I found after people had found out and the funeral had passed (about 6-8 weeks after) people gradually stopped calling which was really tough as it is by no means at an end for us.
