Why do you have to move? And what’s wrong with yor credit?1
-
There have to be some consequences for having bad credit and CCJ's or nobody would pay for anything.
You say you have savings. I have little income and had to offer six months rent and the deposit upfront. Maybe you could try that.1 -
Can you get a guarantor?1
-
Have you satisfied the CCJ? If so you'll be fine in most cases.2

Try landlords who are advertising direct, rather than going through agents. Remember, there is no blanket "pass" or "fail". Some landlords may be willing to give you the nod if they think you're genuine... but you're unlikely to get the pick of the market, of course.2 -
You need to find landlords that don't use an agent for a better chance.
Try http://www.openrent.co.uk/1 -

You can also try spareroom.co.uk. There is an option to choose properties that are only being advertised by private landlords. You can also use the filters to choose "whole properties" if you are looking to live alone.

Wanderingpomm im divorcing my husband (domestic violence) credit is bad because i stayed at home to look after my children and he had businesses, which failed...(i left him to deal with financial side) blue_max_3 only just realised i had an actual ccj, more than happy to pay anything up front. Durban yes..think i can get a guarantor. Comms69 do you think its worth satisfying the ccj, its only small.....AdrianC debts go back 12/15 years still chasing me which is fair enough. (ccj only from 3 yrs ago) just didnt know how i can put my side of things to a landlord, Slithery thank you, never seems muchh in my area, but will keep looking. Toastie2018 thank you, just looked again...i thought it was just rooms, too old to be sharing.... thank you all so much, its all a bit over whelming for me these days.

Yes of course satisfy the CCJ. Irrespective of your current housing problem you need to start geting your finances and credit records in order.Offer 6 months rent up front - some LLs/agent will accept this - but not all.Offer a guarantor. It needs to be someone credit worthy so: salary, clean credit record, ideally home-owner too. But the guarantor needs to understand the commitment they are making.....1
