    thank you for your help
Have you logged into your personal tax account to see what your employer has reported as paying you? I would do that before talking to ACAS, as it is information they may wish to know.

Employer's claims for furlough money are made on the HMRC website using exactly the same login details normally used to access the PAYE payroll scheme. No need to wait for any code from HMRC.
We never used the PAYE payroll scheme as we submit all our payroll info online using relatively cheap software, but to submit a furlough claim you do have to log into your gateway account as well as having the corporation tax code.

If you're paying wages to staff then you're using the PAYE payroll scheme. The software that you use to process the payroll will be using an HMRC login and password in order to upload the RTI information to the government gateway each time you run the payroll. It is that same login and password which is used to log in and reclaim the furlough money.  Probably someone typed it into the settings of your payroll software, let the software remember the password, but forgot to keep a paper record of it.
You're probably right but I do know that you had to quote your company corporation utr when claiming under the scheme

Everyone had to quote their PAYE reference. Not all employers are limited companies/incorporated, so not all would have a UTR.
