Hey guys! I have a flight booked directly with easyJet - going Wednesday (July 1st). The flight is still showing as going, however, I don't want to go as I just don't feel safe taking my family right now. I've called easyJet twice, and on both occasions, after being on hold for 2 hours, they just hang up when I ask for a refund. If, as I suspect, the FCO still advises 'all but essential travel' on July 1st... am I entitled to my money back if the plane still flies against FCO advice? Thanks, I really don't know what to do, and we saved up for 5 years - so ideally I don't want to lose my money

I’m sorry to say if the flight is still going then you will have no choice but to lose the money as it’s disinclination to travel.

There may still be people on the flight that have to travel for many reasons.

At this point I would hang on because there’s a chance they may still cancel it and in that case you will get your money back. You literally have nothing to lose by doing that.

Did you take out travel insurance that would cover this?

You saved up for 5 years for some Easyjet flights? 🤔🤔

I wouldn't plan on spinning that line if you get through on the phone to them.

there is information on their website....
"If you have not heard from us we are planning to operate your flight as planned. If you no longer wish to travel you can transfer onto another flight by going to manage my bookings >"
Easyjet (along with majority of airlines) are not issuing refunds unless the flight is cancelled

The point being is that nobody would believe you. In any case, the budget airlines wont be interested in sob stories true or not so ringing them is pointless, as already said if the flight goes then you have to be on it or you lose out. Go online and change it.

Yeah got the point, I meant the holiday as a whole. Thankfully Booking.com refunded the hotel. The staff at easyJet I have spoken to have been really rude. It's hard to discuss anything with them, as they just abuse you then hang up. I guess they're under a lot of pressure ATM

Yes, that and the fact you booked non refundable flights. They wont care your hotel has been cancelled/refunded as you booked flight only with them

Have you followed the advice above, and tried logging in to move the booking?
Moving it is better than nothing, and unfortunately if the flight goes ahead you're not entitled to a refund.
The FCO advice isn't Easyjet's problem, they're still providing the service - so it's best to move rather than lose the money altogether.
