Slow laptop

A friend of mine has a Lenovo laptop that I bought her a couple of years ago, it's fairly decent and has a Core I5 processor and SSD rather than hard drive.
She describes it as being "slow" - she has very speedy broadband so I don't think that's the problem. She's been using the laptop to work from home in recent weeks so it's become more of an issue.
My instinct in the past would have been to run CCleaner on it but I seem to think I've read that it's no longer so good and I've heard some bad things about it that I can't really remember.
What's my best starting point these days please?

Remove Kaspersky, run Windows update (don't upgrade to 2004 unless it's already there); restart.

To rule out one possible problem. Windows has its own antivirus. You can put K back later.

Run MSCONFIG and see what's starting up .But i would probably backup data and factory restore .0
