Flight refund

We have flights booked  in early August to USA.  Outward/return flights are with British Airways, (booked through American Airlines via a uk travel agent), internal Flights are with American Airlines.  The outward flight is a daily flight but hasn’t operated since March, if this is still the case in August, are we entitled to a full refund of flights, or do we have to take the later flight in the day which has still been operating during the pandemic, if we are transferred to it.   American airlines  are offering credit vouchers valid until Dec 2021, but I would prefer a cash refund if possible.  Thanks in advance.

If the outbound/inbound flights are cancelled and the internal ones are still flying you won’t get a cash refund for those because the service is still operating therefore the vouchers is a generous option in that case.

You don’t say where in the US you are going but BA are still cancelling a lot of their scheduled flights and it’s believed that will continue to happen for a while yet due to the sheer amount of cases still being reported there.

If the later flight is still operating on your date of travel like it has been then yes they can move you to that flight. They may or may not give you the choice to amend for other flights at a later date.
