Hello,
Im after advice. I have recently applied for credit through currys and was accepted and given £2500 limit from creation finance which ive used about £900 in total and paid most of it back so I applied to the same company for a credit card but was refused immediately with no explanation. I thought if I had a line of credit which ive used and paid back early I would be accepted for a card but they said they needed to do additional checks and then a letter through the post just saying no. Has anyone else been through the same and found a way round it?

There’s no “way around it”.You don’t fit their criteria for a customer for whatever reason.
Use an eligibility checker and apply elsewhere.0 -
You say "recently applied"?A lot of companies have time limites between granting a first credit product to granting another. Maybe that is the issue? They also have different levels of acceptance on different products. It could even be that you are at the maximum limit they are willing to provide you at this present time. There are many factors that go into making lending decisions. Just because you don't fit their credit profile doesn't mean you wont be accepted somewhere else.Repaying your debt in accordance with your agreed repayments certianly helps with your credit history. I doubt that repaying early will do anything for your credit worthiness? Also, due to the pandemic and current climate... lenders have tightened up on providing credit.Try some eligibility checkers with other providers.0
