Santander balance transfer card - proof of address and identity

Hi all,
Wonder if anyone else has had the horrible time I have had with Santander trying to get their documents approved.
The timeline is as follows:
27th May applied online for card and received confirmation email
27th May received email requesting documents from their proof of identity and age 1 of each doc
29th May sent hard copy photocopies of requested items
30th May automated email requesting docs (fair enough probably haven’t received mail yet)
3rd June Am automated email requesting docs
3rd June Pm email from team member saying driving licence accepted but council tax bill wasn’t as it was last years
4th June sent most recent council tax bill as proof of address
5th June email to say thank you for your documents - we have passed to account opening team you’ll hear from us in 2 days
10th June automated message requesting 2nr identification docs again
12th June rang customer services and was advised to send all docs again
12th June sent all docs again
16th June message from team member to say they have been passed to account opening team and I’ll hear from them in 2 working days
17th June automated message saying they require 2nr identification docs
26th June call centre call couldn’t help - Advised to send again
26th June sent all docs again on advice of call centre
26th June email to say thanks for application but we didn’t receive documents and by the way this has left a footprint on your credit history
Very frustrating from such a large company to deal with something simple so just wondering if anyone else had similar issues?

My licence and passport are registered at my old home address but I did not use these for address verification and it was in no way communicated to me that this was an issue.
Does anyone think it Is worth my while going through the hassle of complaining or will it just be ignored and fobbed off?
