Dear Curve Customers,
Your Curve card and all associated Curve transaction and money transfer services will be temporarily suspended with immediate effect. Please be assured, we expect to be up and running again shortly but it may take a few days. Your money and card details held at Curve are safe and secure.
This has happened because the Financial Conduct Authority1 has this morning suspended its permission for Wirecard Card Solutions Limited (the company who currently issues Curve Cards) to operate, without prior notice. This action is not related to Curve - but Curve currently depends on Wirecard for operation of the Curve card.

Just received this email myself, Curve have been slowly moving away from Wirecard solutions over the last 6 months and I remember they sent me an email saying they would hopefully have moved everyone to the in-house processing system by the 28th of June. I guess they weren’t quite ready to get it sorted by the 28th based on the recent email.harsh_but_fair said:Dear Curve Customers,

The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Just had my card bounced couldn't work out why, annoying the curve status page doesn't have the suspension message, though the forums do!!0

They are also sending emails out to inform people of the situation.tehone said:Just had my card bounced couldn't work out why, annoying the curve status page doesn't have the suspension message, though the forums do!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. I am questioning whether Curve is worth it. In the last year there have been many times when the service hasn’t been available and now this. With contactless payments on Apple Pay, Apple Wallet, the Android alternatives and on smart watches, etc., I’m not sure Curve is needed as much as when it first started. I always carry at least one spare card as a backup to Curve because of the problems it has had.1

I tend to agree with you and will cancel my curve account now - although that seems to be easier said than done if you read the various fora.0

Exactly. I deleted all my cards and uninstalled the app a couple of weeks ago. It was more trouble than it was worth. Google Pay has always been reliable for me.jaybeetoo said:I am questioning whether Curve is worth it. I have never had a problem using Curve TBH and I find it very useful for small purchases overseas, as opposed to using my standard debit card. This news is annoying but does not mean that there is anything inherently wrong at Curve - just that they released on the infrastructure of a company that has gone down (and is under investigation for a black hole in its accounts).1

I had no problems with Curve. It's a free card what is the point of cancelling it. I hope the suspension is lifted.1
