Won’t you also need masks and extra gloves etc? You should wash your own clothes as soon as you get home and take a shower. That all adds to the time. There’s also a risk of getting ill. Plus, if you don’t do the job well enough and someone gets ill, you could be held liable.
will you be wiping ALL surfaces with bleach? Every door knob, wardrobe knob, the bannister. Inside every cupboard. Wiping all appliances. Every saucepan handle. Won’t that take ages?£75 sounds a bit low to me.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2 -
Is there any guidance on precisely how you are supposed to go about doing that deep clean? Also, guidance on how you are supposed to keep safe yourself?Bear in mind that the latest figures were that 1 person in 400 currently has Covid in this country. If you are servicing two cottages, over the rest of the season the chances are quite high that you will be handling mattress and pillow protectors that have just been used by someone who is infectious. Are you going to be taking these home to wash?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2

Hi gbd
thanks for your reply. Yes I will be wearing mask and gloves which I will have to supply my self I have had the same two lodges for the past few years I have had a look online at the government guidelines and it’s basically a deep clean that needs to be done after each stay so is going to take maybe double the normal time to do, I have made the decision to no longer wash the bed linen but understand that the mattress and pillow protectors will need washing after each guest so would need to take these home to wash it’s not something I want to do but not sure what els to do. It is rather scary times for us cleaners at the min and just wanted a bit of help and advice 😊0 -
So you will need to wear mask and gloves when handling the protectors at home, until after they have been washed.
The risk to your health depends on how old you are. If age 20-30 say, the risk of dying is pretty tiny, even if you do get quite ill. My son is mid 20s and very fit. He got it 6 weeks ago, and his running is still impaired by shortness of breath. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
It’s just scary having to bring the protectors home to wash as I’m bringing it into my home where my kids and partner live. I’m 32.in March I was very poorly could hardly breath doctors thought it was pneumonia but I was never tested for COVID! I have come so close to just stopping work all together it’s rather stressful.😞0

Are there washing machines in the lodges? If so, wash the stuff then take it home to dry.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2

I wouldn't worry about the kids. For reasons not yet understood, they seem to be almost entirely immune. Your partner seems to have survived whatever you had in March.

My concern is that you have more turnaround time. I know that the leave and arrive time by many holiday home rentals has changed - out by 9am and in by 6pm. You need to insist on something like this to stop you looking to the clock - deeper cleans need the time and the renters or owners need to address this.
Take care1 -
Thank you so much guys for taking the time to reply to my messages! Unfortunately there is no washing machines in the lodges 😞 I would definitely like to have the anti body test I heard that super drug were doing them but they are out of stock and have been for a while I will for sure have a look online to see if there is any doctors offering the test thanks again guys 😊0
