WhatsApp has stopped downloading photos

Hi

I thought it was just the amount of traffic through the servers, but my phone (Moto g6plus) has mostly stopped downloading WhatsApp photos and videos. It will download one occasionally, but usually just get a fuzzy image and the spinning download symbol.

I've tried cleaning cache, deleting WhatsApp photo file, reinstalling it, rebooting phone, putting WhatsApp on manual download.

Any ideas appreciated.

Check the available memory on your phone? Also may be worth backing up the chat then deleting the app, re-installing.

I think it may be because the application software is not compatible with the mobile software. Please try updating both of them.

First of all make sure you have the most up to date software on your phone, then try it, this is usually to case for many problems like this. As you have already uninstalled the app and had no luck I would suggest contacting WhatsApp on their online contact form and explain what’s happening maybe they can shed some light for you. Hope you get this sorted

I have had a problem with whatsapp, very recently, with my recent photos not going to Google photos automatically. Not anything to do with full storage or latest updates, as all up to date.
