Discrimination for asking for a refund

Bit upset. My child’s dance school, (which we have paid thousands of pounds too over the past few years) have kicked us out. Because we asked for a refund for dance lessons that could not be held due to the virus. Anyone else having their children discriminated against? I hear that lots of school trips have been cancelled with no refunds.

Did they refund you?0

There must be more to the situation than that. If they are not refunding missed lessons they would have the same rules for all children and if they 'kick them out' simply because he parents ask for a refund then they would lose all their customers which does not make sense.
Whatever the reason, this is not discriminating against your child.

If classes are full to capacity and there is a waiting list I would imagine many groups similar to this will decide to kick out anyone who didn’t support them through these difficult times.2

Of course it's discrimination if they're only kicking one person out. Please look up the word.tonyhender said:This is not discrimination please look up the word.
It isn't illegal discrimination, and there's nothing much that can be done about it.4 -
They say they will. Just waiting. They say that their terms and conditions say no refunds. However I understand that refunds are applicable when a service can’t be provided in a reasonable timescale. Can a company say whatever they like in their terms and conditions or would someone like trading standards ask them to change it if it is wrong?sharpe106 said:Did they refund you?0 -
OP wants a refund, they no longer want your custom. End of. No discrimination there!2

It’s also difficult financially for those that support the clubs. Some clubs are offering refunds or deferals without being asked. This club has indicated it may not be trading for much longer, so I asked for a refund.JReacher1 said:If classes are full to capacity and there is a waiting list I would imagine many groups similar to this will decide to kick out anyone who didn’t support them through these difficult times.0 -
As you said reasonable, I would think most people would accept as they had to shut and they offered classes as soon as they could open again is reasonable.Cashby said:

Can you explain your definition of discrimination?Cashby said:Bit upset. My child’s dance school, (which we have paid thousands of pounds too over the past few years) have kicked us out.
