Hi
Hopefully someone here will be able to assist as EE are worse than useless in trying to contact them.
My employer is in hospital with intermittent wifi, so using the data on his phone. He has used his allowance for the month ( we think, phone saying allowance used, online account saying only 25% used) so we explored the option of data transfer. However, it says we need to add another device in order to set up Family, we already have 6 devices on the account and don't need another one.
He inadvertently purchased additional data, but on the incorrect device, one that he does not have in hospital with him as not his iPad.
I am unable to get through to EE in any format (appreciate working restrictions in place), but am unable to even contact on live chat, simply dismissed once I enter the categories.
Does anyone here know how, or if it is possible to transfer the data from the incorrect device to the phone and if so, how does he go about it?

You can only transfer data between the "family group" numbers. Does he have both these numbers on the same account ? If so he can log into the account and transfer the data. Alternatively get the phone to him and he can set up a hotspot and use the data.

Is this a business account ? To share data across those they need to be on a shared data plan, not as simple as the family plan for private customers. He either needs to get hold of that device and use it or bite the bullet and buy some data for the correct device.

If the account is saying 25% used but phone is saying it’s used up, it’s likely to be a data counter setting on the phone rather than running out of actual plan data. Once that’s changed or switched off the data will work again.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
