Cancelling virgin media contract - advice

I was also with VM for 20+ Years (previously as NTL). However, a complete failure to diagnose a worsening problem (broadband dropping for minutes, hours, sometimes days) sadly prompted me to leave.

My daughter is a student who had a 12 month contract starting on 5th August 2019. She paid by direct debit all the monthly payments. She tried to contact them during lockdown to cancel the contract but could not get through on the telephone nor on the web site. There is a small piece written on the contract which states "Alternatively, please print this contract from and write CANCEL on the front and send it to :Virgin Media, Winnall Down, Alresford Road, Winchester, Hampshire SO21 1FP" - which she did. Immediately prior to posting this letter, a photograph of it was retained as evidence that this process had been completed. Virgin Media are now continuing to charge her, have sent her a bill for £96 and are continuing harassing her for the money saying that the contract has not been cancelled, they have no record of a request to cancel. We can't get it through their thick heads that we have evidence that we want to send them, they will not listen, they keep refusing to listen and just want the charge paid. I can't get through to anyone with the authority to make any decisions and when you try to call the cancellation line they want your Virgin Phone number before you can proceed. FGS she doesn't have a Virgin Mobile account !!!! We are going round in circles and in the latest conversation they said that the next payment will fall due in September. How the hell do we extract ourselves from this company, we are being frustrated at every turn. Please, please can someone suggest something that we can do to get out of this.0

I am a previous Virgin Media customer leaving them nearly 3 years ago. However I did continue to the use the Email address (NTLWORLD). However I would now like to close it down but have unfortunately forgotten the password. I have tried to contact Virgin but have not had much luck as because I no longer have an account with them they are unable to help. Would anyone know how to close this account as I don't like leaving loose ends that can lead to problems in the future. Grateful for any advice0
