O2 have never charged me for my phone upgrade

Options
Hi everyone,

got a slight worry here!
In October of 2018, I upgraded my sim only deal with o2 via the website mobiles.co.uk. The upgrade I went for was for an IPhone XR at £34 a month, so I was now paying for a sim AND a phone.

Obviously the phone has came, and I put in the new sim etc, and I’ve now just realised that I’m actually only paying for the sim only deal, and they have not charged me for the higher price for the upgrade (they are a little bit similar, hence why I hadn’t noticed). When I go on my o2 account it shows that the tariff I’m paying For is the sim only deal that I had previously. So clearly there’s been some
sort of error either on o2’s part or from mobiles.co.uk.

Has anybody had any experience like this? I am now beside myself with worry that when I do try to change tariff again(which I’m hoping to soon), they’ll notice the this and I’ll be hit with a massive bill and have to pay off a large sum of money at once.

I am unsure as to whether I am at fault here for not reporting or whether o2 is at fault because they haven’t put it through their systems.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :-)

If you don't want the costs to build into one large bill, then give them a call now and settle the difference.

You agree it's owed, so be proactive and sort it now.

Slightly off topic, but why do you feel the need to change a phone that's less than 2 years old?
  • I have twice in the distant past ordered phones from mobiles.co uk and the contract was not started so basically  free phones.
In your case it will be mobiles.co.uk that have lost out and not O2 so as they didnt realise within the first financial year I wouldnt worry.
Next time you change phone take a contract from another retailer.

In fairness the OP didn't say they were going to change the phone, just the tariff.
