PCM UK PCN Notice

Good Evening Everyone,

I've received  window PCN in February. ( Reason for issue ; Parked without clearly displaying a valid PCM permit at time of enforcement )

PCN appealed before 14days (should have waited till day 26 but everything was too complicated  to understand for me on "Newbies") using newbies templates rejected.

Day  34 ; I received NTK no rejection letter

Day 66 ; I received rejection letter offering me to pay the fine at the discounted amount within 14 days?  thought NTK comes first?

5 days ago received TRACE Debt Recovery to pay £160 following another letter today ( 2 letters in total from debt recovery within 5 days)

A  bit of a background. One morning I parked my car just outside the parking lot to quickly pick up my prescription. When I returned to my car back  after 7 minutes I found a fine on my windscreen.

I know the advice is ignore debt collectors but these letter gives me panic attacks. omg!

I read on the forum that a lot of people have been taken to court by PCM UK . I wouldn't survive being taken to court. I suffer from anxiety attacks

Thanks in advance

Complain to the landowner then...was this a residential car park, or what?
No such thing in this country as a parking 'lot'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Parking lot; a car park thought it was obvious?

I think the car park belongs to the council as it just opposite housing asscociation.

Parking lot is obvious if you watch US films, I agree, but it's very much an Americanism and should be avoided in defences, IMHO.  Why would a driver use a private car park instead of stopping on street?  If you are picking up a prescription you can stop on street and during COVID you'd have got no Council PCN.

Using any private car park is asking to be scammed, so avoid driving into somewhere, next time.  Use the street.  Loading/unloading or collecting a pre-ordered item is what yellow lines are exempt for.

You will not be sued but you will win.  It's an interesting life experience and we win 99% of cases.
    All good.

its private if PCM UK are monitoring it

car retailers have parking lots, where they display their for sale vehicles

either its a car park, or its not, it may not be well signed or marked out, but its clearly private land because a parking company have been hired to monitor it

complain to the landowner who owns the private land

You sound too harsh and  judgmental, and not very necessary.  I wrote on here for an advice not being reprimanded if I'm a child. This happened pre-covid  - drove around couldn't find a parking space nearby at pay and display machines. nearby. I didn't say I was right to park at PCP when I started this thread for you to be judgmental. Not what I need when I get frighten easily. To be clear I've not got into troubles about things like these before so please be kind.

Thanks for your reassuring last comment I'll sure avoid at all cost next time.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.
