Hi, does anyone know which mobile is best on Vodafone pay as you go phones? also, I need a phone that's compatible with Whats App. My budget is around £30 - 50 - not much higher as I am only on a small budget thank you. I have looked on Vodafone website on pay as you go phones but I can't decide which is a best phone? any recommendations would be great thank you.

Any modern Android phone will work for WhatsApp, you don't need anything special, it just needs to run a relatively recent version of Android.  For £50 your choices are going to be limited.

Still gets you nothing. Goto vodaphone site. Click Pay/G phones. Click vodaphone. Seems it's £80.

You might be into refurb teritory. Don't know a hoarder with spare phones they keep for no good reason? I would have some, but my old phones tend to be non working though use!

Best info you need on android. is 16G storage min. (and 32 if you do want more than whatsapp tbh!), 2gb ram min. Android 8 min (and I would say 9 myself as if brought a lot of usefull things).

There are things out there, but it is going to be second hand or random chinese cheapy. Unless anyone knows better?

There are a bunch of sim-free phones on Amazon at under £60 but no major big brand name, they're all Chinese brands and imports.  They'll do WhatsApp but its whether you want to go down that route.  Below the £50 you're into 2G "dumb" phones that won't do WhatsApp.

There is an Alactel here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alcatel-5033X-2AALGB1-1-Smartphone-Black/dp/B07K1JNG5Y on offer at £51 down from £70 as I write, only one available.  It'll work for WhatsApp - it's not particularly fantastic, but it'll work.

8GB ROM. I assume they mean storage (damn idiots chaging the meaning of the term, what you get when designers make the webpage (not the amazon one) I guess). 1gb ram. also an issue. it will run like glue down a stick. But it should work, als oandroid 8 which they apear to very much try to hide by saying either go or oreo.

It will do it but if you expect it to be forever then you will eventually be outraged by either so slow it does not work ot whatsapp requring 9. (I would guess the former, for all the crappy news stories on whatsapp being bad for not supporting phone thet are usually ones that are so many years old, yes some of t hem cost a lot, paying more for most companies does not mean longer life).

Why I didn't think of this before. I got a iPhone 6s but it's on contract with EE and I don't want to loose this phone but I am struggling to pay EE monthly with me being out of work at the minute and I phoned them but they can't help me with my bill, so just wondering if it's possible if I can get this iPhone 6s unlocked to any network? and still keep the iPhone 6s, for example can I get a sim from Vodafone and unlock this mobile to that network?

Are you sure that your iPhone is actually locked to EE or is it something that you have assumed. First step is to try it with the Vodafone sim.

I have just tried it, it's locked and EE won't unlock it.

I could be missing something here, but if you're struggling to pay your existing bills, how is getting a new SIM going to solve that? It's not as if the EE account is going to stop accruing charges.
