Charges for Vehicle Cleaning during service
I have just booked my van in for its MOT and Service and have been told I will be charged extra for the car to be sanitised before and after the works. Is this normal?
I have had other treatments etc and not been charged for someone's PPE so it seems odd to be charged for this?

Providing that the customer is advised of the extra charges beforehand and are given the chance to cancel then it's perfectly acceptable.
What they couldn't do is to carry out the service and sanitisation and then only tell you about the added cost when you came to pay.0 -
I know some Merc and BMW dealers are charging too...0

I think I'd be saying thanks but no thanks. Taking the pith!
Do they sanitise it again after they have finished?0 -

They have every right to say "A compulsory part of our service is a pre- and post-workshop cleansing, and that's chargeable."
You, equally, have every right to say "I'm not paying that", and go elsewhere.1 -
Covid means this will be more common, probably a good thing they are thinking about it0

Had an email from my dentist today.
Private appointments now have a standard PPE charge of £7 for a check up. If treatment is required this increases to £35!0 -
