Opening pubs before gyms makes ZERO sense.

5 is absolutely not a viable class size for my independent Zumba instructor and she can't be the only one in that position.
Zumba via Zoom has been fine but just not the same, I'm dead keen to get back to a class, which will certainly have to be outdoor for some time.
If you can be with many people in a pub 1m apart you should be able to exercise outdoors with more than 5, especially when the location allows 2m spacing.
Like the pools as you say it's not a priority for the Government due to revenue.
i don’t understand that unless they are claiming some benefit that stops once they start working.1 -
She has said in the past she needs 16, or 12 at a smaller venue, to make it worthwhile.
She would have lower venue costs outdoors but still has to pay for insurance, travel costs and various licences. Then needs to earn enough to actually live on to pay mortgage, bills etc.
She's charges almost 50% lower for the online classes and is losing some of that even in booking fees, so if outside classes of 5 were viable for her business she would have started already.

I see viability being a huge problem for many businesses.
I’m willing to pay more for a haircut, massage, cinema, but wouldn’t be willing to pay a lot more for a meal or theatre so how do places that were previously packed survive (and in London you’re crammed in). London pubs used to spill out onto the road to the point that pedestrians complain and that’s with no elbow room.
if I was her I’d be looking to significantly up the online numbers. That’s a model that would work.0 -
If the images I seen are true, nice to see social distancing taking place!
So get the gyms open now, no excuse not too.0 -
Let's think this through. How many senior conservative MPs own shares in a gym v how many own shares in a brewery. It is and always has been all about the money. Now they are opening places up it is acceptable to have 1 metre distancing rather than 2 metres. Suddenly this virus can't jump further than a metre? All about the money!
