Moving into new home with sky but want freeview

Hello, I am moving into a new home soon which currently has sky we have been told there is no aerial or dish so how are the sellers getting sky? I am a bit confused as I just want freeview so how will I go about getting freeview when I move in? Also they only have a tv in the living room, I want to put TVs in 2 bedrooms how could I do this as I don’t think there’s any sort of connectors for TVs in them at the moment. I would want freeview for the bedroom TVs too. Thank you
I know it is probably a simple answer but I have not got a clue about these type of things.

Sky doesn't stop with the TV service, it may well be that the telephone/internet is with Sky.If there is no external aerial you can either arrange for one to be installed on the roof (but I would be surprised if there isn't one already) or use an indoor aerial if you can get a decent signal, one per room.1

Thank you for the reply, the forms we have got from the conveyancing solicitors which the sellers have filled out say their cable is with sky and also when we went to look at the house early on the seller was in and we asked who are they with for their tv and they said sky. I just find it strange that on these forms they have ticked no aerial or satellite dish. We didn’t really take much notice of what was on the roof when we looked at the house so we don’t actually remember if we saw an aerial or dishNeil_Jones said:Sky doesn't stop with the TV service, it may well be that the telephone/internet is with Sky.If there is no external aerial you can either arrange for one to be installed on the roof (but I would be surprised if there isn't one already) or use an indoor aerial if you can get a decent signal, one per room.0 -
If this is a house with a mortgage and you're otherwise happy, you can always stick an aerial on the roof later.Remember Sky also do NowTV which comes down the internet connection.0

Freesat is the equivalent of Freeview, via satellite. If you plug in a Sky satellite box with no card, that's what you'll get. (You won't be able to record for free, but Sky do/did receiver only boxes.)The Sky dish will be able to have multiple LNBs (little adapters) fitted to give multiple outputs.0

Maybe they are taking the dish with them?
Freeview is much more widely and cheaply supported though Freesat is better with bad reception areas and potentially can have more channels.
If there is only a dish it could be a sign of poor Freeview reception. Though that could be historical, the signal is better these days.
As people said having an aerial or dish installed is not a huge thing. Routing the cables can be though. Lazy easy option is just to run them down outside of house and through window frame.
Incidentally there is s TV forum. This is the internet section. Maybe the same people mind.0 -
If the Sky satellite, is still there, either as suggested use a Sky box with a free viewing card to obtain FreeSat, or just but a Freesat viewer.
If there is a decent aerial on the roof / in the attic, then you'll probably be able to get Freeview as well, there connection point will probably be very close to the Sky point

We use Now tv Internet connected devices to watch the TV in rooms without an aerial connection. They cover all the major channels live (ie BBC, Itv, Channel 4 and 5) and also provide catchup facilities. You tube is also included. You can get basic ones quite cheap.
You just need an hdmi connection in your tv and a powered USB port helps to avoid a separate power lead if you use a stick version.
It's a bit clunky to use but picture quality is good as long as your Internet is reasonably good.0 -
