I am self isolating as I am 81 yrs old with Heart condition & type 2 Diabetes and have a holiday booked in Tenerife on 6th October 2020 with TUI. We do NOT think it will be safe to go but our money balance is due in a couple of weeks do I have to pay this?

If you cancel now you will only lose the deposit you have paid. If you leave it up until the balance is due then they can request full payment. You have decided you don’t wish to go which is understandable so I would cancel now before the balance is due.0

Less then a 1,000 cases in the UK today and about 300 in spain, it is going down so unless a second spike happens which nobody knows about the chances of getting it are pretty slim. At some point you have to live your life if they don't get a vaccine are you going to stay in for ever or take the risk ? After all you can get run over going to the shop.

True but I doubt the actually cases are too much higher, and they are dropping so in another 4 months unless there is a second wave then the figures will probably be even less.

We have decided that sitting in a metal tube breathing recycled air is a risk we do not want to be exposed to.
Even before Covid 19 the chance of being infected by another passengers was quite high."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Ride hard or stay home :iloveyou:0 -
As you have decided not to go then surely the obvious step is to cancel the holiday.

Healthcare workers are now getting antibody tests up and down the country and a lot are testing positive despite never having had a single symptom. We won't know how many people have really had this or how much it has spread around without testing the entire population!0 -

We also have another holiday booked with Tui for October to Lanzarote. The balance is due in a couple of weeks. We are holding off making a decision to see what happens with covid and travel abroad. There is the option to transfer to next year at a cost of £50 per person. The holiday may well be more expensive though. I also had an email from Tui yesterday saying anyone traveling in October would be contacted by them before the end of July. They are obviously well aware of the doubts their customers are experiencing.
Basically, my advice is to wait until just before you need to part with more money then decide the best way forward.0
